The term ‘Web 2.0′ has been lodged by a company named CMP Media as a patent trademark application.
Consequently it is forbidden to use the ‘Web 2.0′ term anymore, which is perfectly at the opposite of its philosophy!
Of course everybody still uses it, despite the CMP attempts to stop it. Enclosed is a Cease and Desist letter from CMP to IT@Cork saying that they can’t use the term ‘Web 2.0′ for their conference.
Reaction just follows: now Web 2.1 represents the Web 2.0 websites and applications… that are profitable!

Merci Fred!

LBi implemented the new design for the public website and the intranet. LBi, as technical partner for the Documentum-based CMS-system, was the logical choice to implement the new design. The design had to change because Brugge developed a new logo at the end of 2006.

We started by the end of November and three weeks later, all the work was finished. On 1 January 2007 the revamped site was launched with a very satisfied customer as a result. Thanks to those who worked for it !! See more here

Gmail, Google’s famous e-mail service, was until recently limited to persons having received an invitation of one of its users. Each new member could invite up to 50 persons. This meant that not everybody could have a Gmail account.

Now, all the European surfers can freely benefit from 2,8 Gb space for their e-mails. Gmail’s evolution doesn’t stop: storage space is regulary increasing, instant messaging Google Talk is also available, functionalities are constantly added and there is also an anti-spam filter.

Once again, Google proposes a very complete and competitive tool. Don’t hesitate to test it…
