Red Het Bos / Sauvez la forêt campaign

Thursday April 1st – April Fool’s Day – but this is not a joke – was a big day for Makro and the tree planting action, the fantastic result of the “Red Het Bos / Sauvez la forêt” campaign.

The campaign resulted in ± 25.000 inscriptions on the campaign, meaning 25.000 people who gave up the paper leaflet and chose for the online leaflet only.

As a reward, Makro promised to plant a tree for every 5 inscriptions. Well guess what, they planted a lot more trees all over the country, good for 12,5 ha of forest = between 25.000 and 32.000 baby trees!

So, our colleague Nathalie put on her rubber boots, took her shovel and set off to Moerbeke-Waas where she got started on planting the trees. She did not come back yet, so we suppose she is still planting trees … – Ok, this is a joke of course, hey it’s still April … ;-)
